Summary/Objective:

Mass FX Media is a Denver-based, design-forward post-production studio. We focus on motion design, animation, and visual effects for brands, documentary tv shows and films. We believe in the power of creative collisions around the office and doing life together as humans. Our company culture promotes these values and lets us design, work, and play together as a team. An attention to detail is a must, which is why a candidate who is a good fit will include his or her favorite childhood pet as the answer for the "anything else we should know?" question on the application.

Our firm is small, but mighty, and we need to run as efficiently as possible without sacrificing an ounce of quality. This role will help the inner-workings of our team function and be a part of the creative industry of film and video production. The Studio Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our studio and provides administrative support for the entire office.

  • Classification: Hourly, Nonexempt

  • Reports To: Executive Producer

  • Hiring Pay Range: $45,000 - $60,000 Annually

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facility management

  • Oversees and provides administrative support for studio operations

  • Creates and maintains reports or other communications on a regular schedule

  • Maintains files, databases, and archives of relevant records

  • Screens and routes routine calls and emails from external or internal sources with appropriate correspondence

  • Oversees the selection of vendors and the purchase of office equipment and supplies

  • Manages supplies, vendors, and facilities’ bookings

  • Facilitating monthly company events that are open to the community

Systems and IT

  • Works with the IT vendor to facilitate software updates and hardware maintenance

  • Coordinates resources to troubleshoot, determine the best solutions, and solve problems to keep the office’s IT infrastructure running smoothly

Finance and accounting

  • Assists with budget compliance and PO creation for vendors

  • Manages expense reporting and inputting bills for payment

  • Annual reviews of insurance and preparing application materials for things like gear inventory

Executive assistance

  • Assists executives with research, data collection, and analysis for operational duties

  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel, and other group activities

  • Helps the company owners with additional tasks and responsibilities

  • May perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Competencies:

  • Outstanding ability to communicate well at every level of the organization

  • Should possesses a self-starter attitude and be able to begin work without needing to be consistently guided in their tasks

  • Comfortable reaching out for details and clarification when a process is not clear

  • Excellent video call, phone, and written customer communication skills

  • Strong computer skills required, including use of typical office software

  • Able to be resourceful and help develop processes and change as necessary

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Education and Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years of experience running operations for a small- to medium-sized business

  • Previous experience with entertainment, film, animation, or production related industry preferred, but not required

  • High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred

Expected Hours of Work:

This is an in-person, on-site role at our studio in Wheat Ridge, working approximately 40 hours per week and is not exempt from overtime. Typical hours fall between 8am and 5pm but can be offset for events that run during the evenings.
